In Home Cooking lessons:

Our cooking lessons are different from your garden variety.  We pride ourselves on not only Chef Oliver Friendly's thorough knowledge of all epicurean subjects, but also his outgoing personality and his ability to make even the most difficult instructions seem simple.  Besides Chef Friendly, what stands us apart from the rest is our venue: your home.  By teaching you in your own kitchen, you not only learn the techniques used by French Chefs for decades, but also how to recreate meals with your own equipment, making translation from the cooking class to daily life much easier.

We offer many varieties of classes from the basics if French Technique, to more specific skills like sauce construction, sausage making, and the art of chocolates and bonbons.

Finally, because we view cooking as one of the most entertaining activities, and bring that mentality to our lessons, they are the perfect excuse for a party!  We've done bridal showers, birthday parties, and a group of foodies wanting a new take on one of their favorite subjects.

 

To give you a little bit of an idea,  some of our more popular classes have been:

  • Romantic Dinner for Two (Which is our only two person $150 class, and consists of 60-90 minutes learning how to make an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert.)
  • Knife Skills - The basics of how to hold and use a knife, as well as which knives to use in which situations.
  • Sausage Making - One of my personal favorites, and always fun and full of double entendres...
  • Chocolate Making - Everything from how to temper chocolate to making truffles and bonbons.
  • Thai and Vietnamese - The basics of all things Southeast Asian
  • Farmers Market Bounty - The class starts at the farmers market, where I help you learn how to pick the best foods, and what to do with them once you get them home.
  • French Techniques - This consists of the foundation of all French foods
  • Pasta Pasta - Learn to make your own pasta from scratch
  • Pizza Making - One of our most popular: Learn to make a pizza, including the dough and the sauce, from scratch
  • Sauce Making - What truly sets French cuisine apart from the rest of the world are the amazing sauces.  Learn how to make your own stock, demigloss, and the techniques that can be applied to create the incredible sauces found in all French food.
